Please see a comment below from Brian Whittle MSP following confirmation that Stagecoach services will resume from Kilmarnock Bus Station after meetings between Stagecoach, East Ayrshire Council and Police Scotland.
Brian Whittle MSP said:
“I’m pleased that the Council, Stagecoach and Police Scotland have acted swiftly to bring in new measures to deal with the anti-social behaviour that led to the suspension of services.
The combination of an increased police presence, mobile CCTV and new interventions from Vibrant Communities and social workers should hopefully serve to prevent further disruption to services.
The kind of serious anti-social behaviour which caused the suspension of services is completely unacceptable and I welcome the recognition that preventing it isn’t just a matter for the police.
The best way to stop anti-social behaviour by young people is with a combination of greater deterrence and greater opportunities to do other things.”
