Run by Managing Director Jill Woodburn, Woody’s Ice Cream have been manufacturing their award winning luxury ice creams, fresh fruit sorbets and fat free frozen yoghurts for 14 years and recently opened their first ice cream & dessert bar in Mauchline.
With their factory based on the family’s dairy farm just outside Galston, Woody’s uses milk fresh from the herd every morning. As well as being on sale in cafes and shops across Ayrshire, the business supplies many of the area’s hotels and restaurants and can even create flavours to order for anyone looking for something special.
During his tour of the production facilities, Brian was introduced to Sadie Rae, one of the business’s longest serving staff, who’s responsible for many of the different flavour combinations.

“I’m grateful to Jill for taking the time to show me around and introducing me to Sadie, the Queen of ice cream! Woody’s is another great example of a farm in Ayrshire that’s taking their produce and turning it into a brand with a great reputation for quality.
No matter what time of year it is, there’s always time for ice-cream!”

Using our own Creamy milk is what sets us apart from other local Manufacturers, as we collect our milk at body temperature each morning, ensuring we maintain the highest level of nutrients possible within our Ice Cream. Being within the heart of Ayrshire is something we are extremely proud of, there are so many amazing Food and Drink producers, and It really does pay to shop local.
