Brian Whittle MSP is joining Marie Curie’s call to throw a Blooming Great Tea Party and raise money to support people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones.
Brian Whittle MSP said: “I’m delighted to be supporting Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party for another year. Holding a tea party is a great way to raise funds for Marie Curie, have fun with friends and maybe even make some new ones. I hope people across South Scotland will go along to their nearest tea party or even consider holding one of their own.”
Susan Brown Policy & Public Affairs Manager Scotland added: “Thanks to Brian we hope more people will be inspired to take part and do something great this summer to raise money for Marie Curie.
“It doesn’t matter whether you #fakeit or #bakeit, if you throw a tea party and collect donations for Marie Curie you will be helping us reach more people affected by terminal illness and provide nursing care, information, emotional support and research to help them and their loved ones.”
Last year there were 140 Blooming Great Tea Party’s across Scotland raising over £61,500.
Marie Curie made over 12,000 visits providing care and support to people in their own homes in the South Scotland region in 2017/18. Anyone can also receive free support through the Marie Curie Information & Support Line on 0800 090 2309 or visit mariecurie.org.uk/help.
